Really Remote Monitoring
Sitevisuals supports construction of the new Brooking Channel Bridge.

Tasked with documenting the construction of the new $107 million Brooking Channel Bridge, we delivered a seamless solution tailored to the unique demands of this large-scale, remote operation. From capturing pivotal milestones, like the bridge launch, to providing flexible monitoring systems, our work played an integral role in showcasing the success of this critical West Australian project.

The Brooking Channel Bridge project was overseen by the Fitzroy Bridge Alliance and included demolition of the old bridge and construction of a new 127-metre dual-lane structure.

With all the action taking place in WA’s expansive and isolated Kimberley region, it was crucial for management and offsite team members to have access to a remote monitoring system.

Sitevisuals provided the Alliance with several cameras as part of our easy-to-use self-installation service and remote installation support. Cameras were able to be relocated as desired without the need for additional scheduling between teams, saving the client on time, travel costs and allowing for greater flexibility.

Time-lapse photography proved invaluable in capturing the project’s most significant achievements, including the bridge demolition, piling, pier shell installation, final sealing, night concrete pours and most significantly the bridge launch.

The incremental launch of the bridge deck was a visually striking process that showcased the team’s precision engineering. Sitevisuals' time-lapse cameras captured this event in stunning detail with a simple remote increase in capture rate, offering both technical insights and an aesthetic record of the achievement.

"The launch was one of many milestones that the project achieved, and it was a particular highlight,” Alliance Deputy Director, Rowan Dillon said. "Sitevisuals superbly captured this moment for posterity.”

The launch specific time-lapse video was a wonderful resource to share project success with stakeholders and the broader community.

Completed in just nine months, the new Brooking Channel Bridge is a vital link on the Great Northern Highway, supporting freight, road trains, and local traffic. Its dual-lane design, combined with enhanced flood resilience, ensures that the region’s supply chain remains robust for years to come.

By documenting this transformative project, Sitevisuals delivered more than just visuals—we helped preserve a legacy of progress, innovation, and resilience.
